Designing a Website for An Elderly Wish Foundation
Creating a website for An Elderly Wish Foundation was especially meaningful because their work centers on bringing joy, comfort, and dignity to older adults facing serious or chronic illness in Contra Costa County. Their organization exists to grant wishes for local seniors, so the website needed to feel compassionate, trustworthy, and easy to use for families, donors, volunteers, and community supporters.
The goal of this project was to create a website that clearly communicated the heart behind the organization while also making it easier for visitors to learn about the foundation, support its mission, and take action. Public information about the organization highlights its focus on serving residents age 50 and older in Contra Costa County and providing a simple path for people to seek information and submit applications.

The focus
When approaching this design, I wanted the website to feel welcoming and hopeful without losing the professionalism a nonprofit needs to build trust. Because An Elderly Wish Foundation serves people dealing with difficult health circumstances, the design needed a gentle, compassionate tone that still made important information easy to find and understand.
The website also needed to support the foundation’s broader community presence. Public event coverage shows the organization promotes fundraising efforts and accepts donations to continue granting wishes, so the site needed to help visitors quickly connect with the mission and understand how to contribute.
Design goals

These priorities were shaped by the organization’s public-facing mission and service details, including eligibility requirements, contact information, and the kinds of wishes they help fulfill.
The result
The finished website gives An Elderly Wish Foundation an online presence that better reflects the compassion and impact of their work. It provides a clearer path for visitors to learn about the organization, understand who it serves, and engage with the foundation through support, inquiries, or participation in fundraising efforts.
This project is a good example of how thoughtful website design can help a nonprofit communicate both its mission and its credibility.
